The Motor Company has revealed it’s 2018 range, which contains nothing less than eight new Softail models. The new softails are the result of the largest research and development program in the history of the brand. Thousands of hours of research and testing were needed to design from a to Z these new cruisers said Paul James, Product Manager, on the occasion of the presentation of the Harley-Davidson 2018 range.
New frame, new engines, and of course New look, all Softail models have been redesigned. The frame that always simulates a rigid rear frame gains stiffness (+ 65%), while losing 8-6 kg, depending on the versions.
On the suspension side, the Softails adopt the double-valve fork and large travel (130 mm) inaugurated by touring models last year. At the rear, the discrete mono-damper is now easier to Preload.

Then comes the Softail Slim (€20,160), flanked by a narrow back, a mini fender front and a solo saddle, a tribute to the custom post-war bobbers. More designed to trim the road, the Deluxe model (€21,460) shines with all its chrome, while with its long fork, the Breakout (€21,760) plays dragsters. After the death of the V-Rod, a bad Fat Bob (€17,860) appears to be able to take over the torch. Finally, the entry-level remains ensured by the affordable Street Bob (€14,860).
Last but not least, the vintage 2018 Harley-Davidson also hosts five new touring models. Two hot Rod baggers, Street Glide and Road Glide Special, which exchange their chromes against a dark black siding.
