2018 Kawasaki Z900RS Specifications

Here is The 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS Specs and Price Detail Informations, We Write About This Z1 Old Style but With The New Power. In a replica of the legendary Z1 of 1972, Kawasaki is skillfully surfing on the Néorétro wave by wearing his Z900 roadster.

RS for Retro Sport, the shortcut is gripping, but it clearly defines the field of action of the Z900RS that Kawasaki will drop on our roads early next year. Facsimile of the legendary 900 Z1 of 1992, this RS nevertheless uses mechanical organs borrowed from the very modern roadster Z900 launched last January.

Starting with a water cooled 4-cylinder that does not lose its radiator, but is found rigged of pseudo fins. Its power is quite contemporary: 111 hp at 8,500 rpm. Compared to the Z900, it loses 13.6 hp, but the maximum torque of 98.5 Nm is reached as early as 6,500 rpm instead of 7,700 rpm.

A small regret, Kawasaki did not go so far as to reproduce the four exhausts which distinguished the original version. Even the double output of the Zephyr 1100, the first replica of the Z1 launched in 1992. The builder claims, however, to have cured the sound of the 4 in 1 of the RS, which he describes hoarse and deep at low speed.

The curve of the reservoir (17 liters), the padded saddle, the round headlight, the shell-shaped meters and the color chart are well in the spirit of the time. All that’s missing are the spoke wheels and the classic suspensions. In return, the inverted fork, the mono-shock absorber and the three discs from the Z900 will guarantee a rigour of behavior far superior to that of the ancestor.

2018 Kawasaki Z900RS Specifications

In a market where the odds of classic motorcycles continue to climb, the 2018 Kawasaki Z900RS should find its audience. Only reserve, with a saddle perched at 835 mm, it will be large and sufficiently muscular to compose with a mass of 215 kg dry.

The success of this néorétro will also be conditioned by a tariff that is expected as competitive as that of the Yamaha XSR 900, i.e. contained under the bar of the €10,000. The Kawasaki being, like the Yamaha, derived from an existing model, it would make sense that it would be cheaper than the Honda CB 1100 EX displayed at €12,499.
