2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon Restyling, Changes, Interior, Engine
2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon Restyling, Changes, Interior, Engine – The best-selling station wagon in Europe is renewed. 2018 restyling of the Skoda Octavia is reflected in some of the aesthetic novelties aimed mainly at the front, where we find the split headlights and a more imposing mask; But also on the engines, they see the arrival of a new 1.0 3 cylinders turbo from 115 hp. The bestseller 2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon 1.6 TDI earns 5 hp, for a power of 115 hp, while the version 1.4 G-TEC methane continues to be successful in sales.
2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon Interior Changes
The front headlights split with LED daytime running lights, the LED headlights in the rear light units, and those full led series on the Skoda Octavia Rs are one of the most important novelties of the restyling 2018 of the Czech family (it is true, there is also sedan but in Italy the wagon is clearly the best sold).
The news, however, does not end here. In fact, the most succulent once seated in the driving place is the 9.2-inch touch screen (same size as the one of the golf) of the Columbus Multimedia system with hotspot and an internal memory of 64 GB. Among the services offered there is the automatic call to the rescue in case of an accident, the call in case of failure of the vehicle, and the scheduling of the coupons, which allows you to make an appointment with the workshop.
The most spacious station in the category
The 2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon remains the most spacious family in its segment. As for passenger space, there is not an equally capable alternative, so as to make it comfortable as some of the top segment wagons. Also with regard to the boot wins on all the others in the 5-seater configuration (610 liters) and you take the second step of the podium when you knock down the backs (1,740 liters).
The new smart solutions “simply clever”
Remaining on the subject of versatility, the 2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon offers new intelligent solutions (the house defines it as “simply clever”) as the housing for plastic bottles, that are blocked so that you can unscrew the cap with one hand, or, again, the crown of the steering wheel heated and, for rear passengers, the folding tables, and two USB outputs. Only on the Skoda Octavia Wagon is a removable LED flashlight that recharges when the car is turned on.
2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon First Impression
The turbocharged version 1.6 TDI is the best-selling version in Italy, but also the CNG one is cut a fair share of the market, for the accuracy of 30%. Its greatest value is the operating economy. With about 12 euros full-the methane reservoir has a capacity of 14 liters, actual about 12-the New Skoda Octavia Wagon 1.4 G-Tec is capable of a theoretical autonomy of 350 km, to which are added the other 950 (always theoretical) gasoline.
But don’t think you’re giving up on driving a pleasure. The engine is the 1.4 TSI 4 cylinders turbo from 110 hp, brilliant, but above all quiet and relaxing. I prefer it to a diesel engine of equal power-although the torque is considerably lower-you want for the noise reduced to a minimum, you want the capacity of the 4-cylinder supercharged unit to turn fluid at 1,000 rpm and for the possibility of lengthening with a discrete brio up to 6,000 rpm. The Skoda Octavia Wagon G-Tec reveals itself as a great travel companion, especially with the DSG double clutch automatic.
The downside? The coupons are expected every 15,000 km (on the other every 30,000 km) and the trunk passes from 610 to 480 liters as it is not available the double bottom, occupied by the three CNG tanks. Moreover, the autonomy of methane is not exciting, especially if you grind miles on miles every day, and refueling might prove more difficult than expected, especially in some regions where the distributors are chimeras.
Skoda Octavia Scout and Rs TDI
The 2018 Skoda Octavia Wagon is the classic functional and rational car. In the Scout and RS versions, however, it has a more pronounced personality. The first is a crossover version in the style of the Audi A6 Allroad (to cite the first that invented the segment) with a raised trim of 30 mm and plastic protections for the bodywork.
The Skoda Octavia RS, opposite the Scout, is the sports version, with a lowered trim of 15 mm. There is both with 2.0 TSI gasoline engine from 230 hp both with 2.0 TDI diesel engine from 184 HP, front wheel drive or 4×4. That diesel, in particular, can be really a car in the round, with reasonable consumption and performance of all respect.
