2019 Audi A6 Presented in the world premiere at the Geneva show, the eighth generation of Audi’s big road is close to its big sister in terms of style and Technology.

The builder of Ingolstadt continues the renewal of its range. After the A8 and the A7 Sportback, it is the turn of the A6 to change a generation. The latter should have arrived earlier but the leaders had changed the scheduling of the launches. The current Audi A6 will have made an exceptional career of almost eight years. Ready to confront its rivals, mainly the BMW 5 series and the Mercedes E-class, the new 2019 Audi A6, marketed from the end of June, will gladly pass for an A8 in reduction. Both saloons appear to have been drawn at the same time as the A6 is inspired by its big sister in the volume processing, the grille and the rear part. It’s happy, Audi has put an end to the increase in the template and the new 2019 Audi A6 sees its length increase by only 7 mm to reach 4.94 meters. The width of 1.88 m and the height of 1.45 m increase respectively by 12 and 2 mm. If the manufacturer announces an improved habitability at the rear seats, the capacity of the trunk does not change to 530 liters.

Onboard, the atmosphere is close to that of the A8. The occupants of the A6 will, therefore, have the impression of traveling in first class. Apart from some materials and the apparent aerators, the dashboard is identical to that of his big sister. What will change the lives of the owners of the current model is the perfect integration of multimedia screens. Like the Audi limousine, the A6 is converted to the new “MMI Touch Response” system marked by the presence of a huge 10.1-inch screen. The traffic on the screen and access to menus and functions are done as with a smartphone, with a simple drag-and-drop of the finger. A second 8.6-inch screen at the bottom of the console controls the comfort and air conditioning functions. The driver will find himself facing the virtual cockpit that is becoming widespread on all the new Audi models.
Users of corporate fleets will be delighted to learn that up to seven people can record their preference settings. Other attention, as an option, the Audi Connect key replaces the traditional key. This can be done by locking/unlocking the doors and starting the engine from a smartphone. More and more autonomous, this A6 sometimes puts itself in the place of the driver. This is how it will be able to park but also to exit a parking space in a way without the driver’s intervention thanks to the parking Pilot devices. Depending on the evolution of the legislation, the A6 will be able to equip itself with the pack City Assist which allows the autonomous progression of the vehicle in urban traffic.
2019 Audi A6 Engine
Summoned to participate in the reduction of the average CO2 emissions in the range, the A6 adopts light hybridization. This is how all V6 engines are powered by a 48-volt electrical system, while the 4-cylinder version proposed for launch runs on 12 volts. The MHEV technology saves up to 0.7 l/100km thanks to the activation of the start-stop function between 7 and 22 km/h and to the active wheel-free function between 55 and 160 km/h, under certain conditions. During its launch, the A6 range will consist of four engines. The presence of three TDI did not end in a debate at a time when diesel sales were heavily stalled. The power of the three TDI ranges from 204 (4-cylinder A40 TDI) to 231 hp and 286 hp (3 liter V6). The 3.0 TFSI Direct fuel injection V6 has a power of 340 hp. The two TDI V6 is associated with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the other two engines are accompanied by a 7-speed S-Tronic. Audi has not yet communicated on later versions, but it is most likely that a refillable hybrid model will be proposed.
Anxious to erect its A6 in reference to the segment in terms of comfort and dynamism, Audi has treated the rigidity of the chassis, the soundproofing, and the rolling trains. The 2019 Audi A6 can have a variable gear direction and the four steering wheels pointing the rear wheels up to 5 degrees. Four types of suspensions will be proposed: Steel spring suspensions, sports suspension, piloted damping or controlled suspension. Apart from the 204 hp TDI 4-Cylinders, all other versions benefit from the full transmission.
