New-at BMW, 2019 BMW M8 Gran Coupe concepts are never innocent and the Geneva show announces the arrival next year of a series 8 Gran coupe, a coupe 4 doors of great luxury.
The next Coupe 8 series is not yet in concessions-it arrives next fall-that BMW already lifts the veil on its family declination Gran coupe. Still in the prototype state, this very realistic “concept” announces the arrival of a version developed by Motorsport Sports Division. Dubbed 2019 BMW M8 Gran Coupe, this concept of 5.07 m long and 1.40 m in height displays very aggressive lines. Surfing on the current carrying the 4-door cut, this M8 seems to want to aspirate the bitumen with its front shield with large air intakes and its aerodynamic lip close to the ground. The absence of overhang, the long front bonnet and the flag fleeing as a coupe contribute to the balance of shapes. The carved flanks and the marked shoulder create a convincing light play.
The most original part of this really athletic silhouette is undoubtedly the back trunk on which an impressive spoiler with the mission to tackle the M8 on the ground. The rear shield incorporating the gills on each side also contributes to the aggression of the drawing. As with any sport that respects itself, the 2019 BMW M8 Gran Coupe cannot do without the rear diffuser and the two double exhaust nozzles positioned at the ends. As a worthy representative of the Motorsport family, the M8 study embarks on numerous carbon fiber-reinforced plastic body parts. Starting with its roof, which allows to lower the center of gravity. As for the front projectors, they adopt a technology similar to the one that equips the M8 GTE that BMW will engage in the world Championship of Endurance. The “Green sarise” body shade with green and grey blue reflections contributes to the spectacular nature of this concept, which shows that BMW has not renounced its tradition of sports cars. Still in the state of mock-up, this prototype is a real work of style. Also, the treatment of the interior opens the way to the imagination.
2019 BMW M8 Gran Coupe Engine Specs; A double turbo petrol V8
As for the motorization, one can legitimately assume that it will be the V8 with direct fuel injection of the last M5. With a capacity of 4.4 litres, this double turbo block delivers a power of 600 hp at 5,600 rpm and a torque of 750 Nm, present from 1.800 to 5,600 rpm, under the hood of the M5. Under the hood of the M8 Gran Coupé and the M8 coupé, the power will be at least similar. The gearbox will be an automatic M Steptronic with 8 reports. An M xDrive transmission should accompany this really detonating package. With the 2019 BMW M8 Gran Coupe, BMW continues its offensive in the segment GKL (luxury vehicles) and intends to retaliate against the Mercedes AMG-GT coupe presented in Geneva and marketed this year but also to the Porsche Paname and the Aston Martin Rapide S.
