2019 Infiniti QX30 AWD Redesign, Engine Specs, Interior
The 2019 Infiniti QX30 is the compact crossover of Nissan’s luxury brand. The base is the same as Mercedes GLA, and you notice this as soon as you pick up the keys. Also, many details of the cockpit revealed the kinship between the two crossovers, but the Japanese have a personality of its own.
2019 Infiniti QX30 Design
In Both cases, we have a “squashed” crossover, sporting style. The ground clearance of 20 cm allows you to pass dirt roads without problems, while the high Beltline and the racy silhouette are almost coupe-like. In front you are comfortable, behind the space is not lacking but the environment is not ‘ airy ‘ because of the small windows and the roof a little ‘ low.
The lines are sinuous and full of ribs. It’s not “messy”, but it sure does make a point for its muscular appearance. Inside, the instrumentation and many buttons are identical to those of cousin GLA, but the design of the plank and the elegant coatings of the QX30 that we have in test raise further the level of perceived quality. And fortunately here is not the small alpha-numeric keyboard, now a little ‘ dated.
Compared to the infinite Q30 from which it derives, the 2019 Infiniti QX30 has a more fashionable appearance with its plastics to protect the bodywork and with the height from the ground up. On the QX30 is not available the diesel engine of Origin Renault 1.5 D from 109 hp, but only the 2.2 D 170 Hp with 4×4 traction and automatic transmission double clutch 7-speed.
The minimum height from the ground of 20 cm gives a slightly raised driving position, but the QX30 is certainly not born to move in the countryside between vineyards and rice paddies. On the road, however, the infinite crossover is very bright despite a weight not really contained. Shoot well (0-100 in 8.9 seconds) and the double clutch rattles one gear after another. In the departures, however, the automatic transmission shows a little ‘ undecided and not very sweet in the separation of the clutch.
2019 Infiniti QX30 Interior
The cockpit is from premium car, almost to the top in its segment. That is not a young project, however, you see from the screen of the multimedia system, a little too small for today’s standards. The 2.2 turbo diesel engine has a nice brio, but it is certainly not silent, especially from the 3,500 turns up.
The 2019 Infiniti QX30 is no doubt agiler than a compact SUV of the same segment. It is comparable only to GLA, because any other model would have the best from the point of view of the space on board but certainly not of the driving skills. The trunk, by the way, is not at all small.
2019 Infiniti QX30 Price
The 2019 Infiniti QX30 price ranges from 40 to 45000 euros. Not a little, but you have to consider that even the “basic” layout comes with a very rich standard. In addition, the QX30 is available only with the 2.2 turbo diesel engine with automatic transmission and 4×4 traction, as well as in the petrol version 2.0 4 Cylinders Turbo 211 Horsepower dedicated to those who do not care about the cost of travel.
New Infiniti QX30 Rivals
The rivals of the Infiniti QX30 are the Mercedes GLA, the BMW X1, and the Audi Q3. Both the BMW and the Audi are very close to the Japanese but are about 8 centimeters tall.
New Infiniti QX30 Pros and Cons
- It is maneuverable on the road, like a normal “compact sedan”
- The automatic transmission is fast and efficient
- Has personality both outside and in the cockpit
- The choice of engines is limited to the 2.0 turbo petrol and the 2.1 diesel engine: In Italy, they like the smaller displacements, available on Q30
- The fact that Infiniti is a little-known mark affects the resaleability
- The change is a little undecided and sweet in the departures
