2019 Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo, a powerful electric crossover at the Geneva International Motor Show 2018 unveils by Porsche. Without recalling the question of the fast charging infrastructure, which is indispensable for this type of vehicle.
Tesla has a new competitor in the field of high-performance electric SUV: The 2019 Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo. Qualified as a crossover by the Stuttgart Builder, this 4, 95 m, four-door, 4-seater family vehicle is reminiscent of the aesthetics of the Paname. This concept because it follows the Mission E presented at the Frankfurt exhibition in 2015, it differs visually by the addition of elements borrowed from the universe of the all-terrain, such as the reinforced wheel arches.
Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Interior, the 2019 E Cross Turismo innovates with a new system of display and controls based on touch screens, and, more revolutionary, a possibility to act via eye movements (tracking, or “eye tracking”). This electric Porsche was developed from an 800-volt architecture. Its two engines deliver a cumulative power of 600 Horsepower (440 KW). It reaches 100 km/h in less than 3.5 seconds and 200 km/h in less than 12 seconds. “Our vehicle will be able to chain several accelerations without loss of power,” says Oliver Blum, president of the German Company.
2019 Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo Fast Charging Tech
Like some smartphones, the 2019 Porsche Mission E Cross Turismo will be recharged by induction (no contact). It can also be fed on a single terminal or by connecting to the Home energy management system designed by Porsche (“Wall box”). The manufacturer says it will be “compatible with the ultra-fast charging network”.
But the firm remains discreet about the possibilities of this type of recharge, indispensable with the electric vehicles of high power. BMW, Daimler (Mercedes), Ford and Volkswagen (with the Audi and Porsche brands) announced a little over a year ago the creation of a joint venture to develop a network of 400 high-power charging stations on the main European roads. Highly efficient systems, capable of filling the battery of an average car in a handful of minutes (one speaks of a flow of 350 KW), are thus already under study in addition to the Rhine.

What about this project? In the Face of a public and small-flow-oriented tricolor approach, Germany is contemplating the rapid recharging infrastructure managed by the private sector and once again putting technology on the road. Nevertheless, Tesla keeps a head start for the moment with its network of Superchargers which has densified over the years in the United States and in Europe.
