Here is The New 2020 BMW X5 xDrive45e. Performance and environment are not incompatible. Now powered by an inline 6, the plug-in hybrid version of the new generation of the X5 sees its CO2 emissions drop to 49 g.

At BMW, more is less. Indeed, the transition from the 4-cylinder to the 6-cylinder in line for the plug-in hybrid version of the new X5 translates into a reduction of 28 g/km of its CO2 emissions. From 77 g with the old 40th version, the releases thus go to 49 g with the 2020 BMW X5 xDrive45e launched in the course of the year 2019. Consequence: taxation should be more attractive.

This new BMW plug-in hybrid SUV should benefit from a total exemption from TVS (tax on company cars). The conditional is still in place since Bercy has not yet rendered its arbitration on the 2019 bonus-malus grid. We know that if the system gets tougher, the public authorities run the risk of seeing the market unscrew. The contagion effect to the entire economy would then be immediate. And the pernicious spiral would be re-engaged. Let’s hope that our rulers will know how to be wise.

In the meantime, fans of the 6-cylinder in line will not sulk their pleasure with this X5 45th which reconciles performance and respect for the environment. This large SUV, which makes a gesture for the planet, displays an official consumption of only 2.1 l / 100 km, instead of 3.3 l / 100 km previously. Admittedly, this value remains very theoretical and depends on the use of the vehicle. If your daily course is limited to fifty kilometers, you will ride only in electric.

This new SUV boasts a range of nearly 80 kilometers, provided the battery is sufficiently charged. It’s almost three times more than the old model. And it can now push peaks up to 140 km/h, instead of 120 km/h for the 4-cylinder version. This increase in performance is based on the adoption of a higher capacity lithium-ion battery, advanced power electronics, and increased power.

From 313 horsepower combined, the power now stands at 394 horsepower thanks to the combination of the 286-hp 3-cylinder inline 3-cylinder gasoline engine with the 82 kW (112 hp) electric machine of the previous model. The combined maximum torque is 600 Nm, instead of 450 Nm for the 40th. The X5 45e always trusts an 8-speed automatic transmission and is always delivered with AWD. The performances are in net progress.

This X5 has a top speed of 235 km/h and it will need only 5.6 seconds to reach 100 km/h, which is a gain of 1.2 seconds compared to the 40th.

The 2020 BMW X5 xDrive45e version has almost identical features to a classic X5, with the exception of its trunk volume of 150 liters (500 liters). Similarly, the 7-seater option is not available on this standard equipped version of the air suspension.
