2020 Porsche 718 T: Price, Configurations, Specs. Low-profile sport chassis, 6-speed manual transmission, lighter endowment: Porsche has created a sports car that speaks to enthusiasts from the Boxster and Cayman 718 T.
2020 Porsche 718 T is not the most powerful, it leaves that to the S and GTS versions of the Boxster and Cayman, but the new version T (Touring) already announces itself as one of the entry models in the Porsche universe among the most exciting to drive. Anxious to address all its audiences, Porsche Automobile takes care to address the fans of driving hair in the wind with the Boxster as the fans of driving closed with the Cayman. From a version 718, engineers have concocted a variant T that speaks to purists. The mechanics is that of the basic model, namely the 4-cylinder flat turbo 2-liter of 300 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque. It is associated for the first time with the 20 mm low-profile sport chassis coupled with the PASM system.
2020 Porsche 718 T Redesign & Changes
No change in terms of style, but these Touring versions feature 20-inch wheels, quartz-gray mirror hulls and a sport exhaust with chrome-plated black nozzles in the center position. The interior atmosphere evokes that of exclusive and sporting versions. The opening of the doors now rests on straps and the wraparound seats have two electrical adjustment positions. They are draped with fabrics and incorporate a monogram 718 embroidered on the headrests. To compensate for the increase in weight due to the incorporation of a particulate filter imposed by the new pollution control standards, the 718 T skips the information system PCM (Porsche Communication Management). It can, however, be installed on request and at no extra charge. The Chrono Sport Pack is part of the standard equipment. Porsche announces a standard fuel consumption of 7.9 l / 100 km for both models, ie CO2 emissions of 180 g / km for the Cayman. As for the 2020 Porsche 718 T Boxster, it rejects one more gram.
The Sport and Sport Plus modes activate the automatic double-clutch function when lowering the gears. The 6-speed manual transmission, which helps restore an old-fashioned driving experience, can be replaced by the optional PDK automatic transmission. For the sake of dynamism and agility, the 2020 Porsche 718 T features the Porsche Torque Vectoring torque distribution system and the mechanical limited slip differential on the rear axle. Powertrain vibrations are also mitigated by the presence of the PADM system. Excluding additional equipment, these T versions become access models to the 718 range. They are 5 to 10% cheaper, with a comparable endowment, to version 718.
2020 Porsche 718 T Price
The Cayman T Cost is 65,210 euros. The Boxster T claims 2.040 euros more.
