At the Geneva show, Seat celebrated the launch of Cupra With Reveal 2020 Seat Cupra Ateca, a brand that will now embody the sporting expression of the Spanish firm in all its forms.
Cupra, contraction of Cup Racing, appeared for the first time at Seat in 1996, on the body of a sports variant of the city Ibiza. Like RS at Ford, this logo has become synonymous with high-flying performance, involving engine preparation and thrust chassis.
By choosing to make it a full-fledged brand, Seat hopes to value this exclusive production. Cupra will benefit from a dedicated sales space at 260 selected dealers in the Seat network. No question, however, to go as far as DS which offers models totally separate from those of Citroën.
Cupra will only seek to conquer an audience of enthusiasts willing to invest in a variant clearly expressing its difference. And, in order to assert its vocation, CUPRA will also encompass the entire division of motor Sport and the race that was previously under the responsibility of Seat sport.
Launched as part of the Geneva show, Cupra appears for the first time as a brand on a bonnet, that of the Ateca. A judicious choice on the part of its officials who thus cleared a territory that had never been explored by the generic brands, the sports SUV.
The 2020 Seat Cupra Ateca come from the 4-cylinders TSI 2 liters of 300 hp already mounted in Seat Leon Cupra R. It is here coupled with the 7-speed DSG box and the 4Drive integral transmission. The 0 to 100 km/h would be shot down in 5.4 seconds and the peak speed would peak at 245 km/h.

Inside, to enhance the standing of the 2020 Seat Cupra Ateca, the Alcantara covers the seats and the door panels. Keyless boot, wireless charger, 360 ° camera, 8-inch touchscreen, digital handset, and piloted damping will be part of the serial allocation.
2020 Seat Cupra Ateca Release Date and Price
