2020 Toyota Prius Release Date & MSRP

Toyota introduced its 2020 Toyota Prius at the Los Angeles Auto Show, built on a platform shared with other models in its lineup. If its lines do not change much, it is now available in four-wheel drive.

The Toyota Prius, appeared on the automobile scene in 1997, was the first hybrid car in the world. If she was shunned at first, she then found her followers to the point of being among the most sold electrified vehicles around the globe. This technology, which combines a gasoline engine with a power unit, is now essential to meet future European “antipollution” standards.

2020 Toyota Prius Changes

The 2020 Toyota Prius is still based on the platform called TNGA (Toyota New Global Architecture) GA-C, as the Corolla and the RAV-4. It now has a version equipped with a four-wheel drive electric system (AWD-i). A small additional electric motor is grafted to the rear axle, and can move the car from simple traction to 4×4 if the conditions require it, between 10 and 70 km / h.

Otherwise, it benefits from a discreet restyling that results in revised optics, new wheels and two new colors: intense red and turquoise blue. Inside, the changes are not much larger but not a larger induction smartphone charger and a modified center console.

The AWD-i equipped version uses a nickel-metal hydride battery, while traction works with a lithium-ion battery. Deliveries will begin in February and rates remain unchanged, except for the entry-level Dynamic which is displayed at 34.428 USD instead of 34.996 USD before.

Safety Sense

All Prius models, including the Prius AWD-e renditions, come standard with Toyota Safety Sense P (TSS-P). Utilizing millimeter-wave radar and a monocular camera sensor to help distinguish a walker, a vehicle, and path markers and headlights in the encompassing territory, TSS-P gives a thorough heap of dynamic wellbeing highlights including: Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection (PCS w/PD), Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist (LDA w/SA), Automatic High Beams (AHB), and Full-Speed Range Dynamic Radar Cruise Control (DRCC).

Since all Toyota Prius models, in specific situations, can work in battery mode alone, amid which they make next to zero commotion, they consolidate a Vehicle Proximity Notification System (VPNS) to encourage ready people on foot and cyclists.
