Here is our comprehensive review of Citroen C4 Cactus 2019 SUV Redesign, horsepower, engine specs, MPG, Luxury interior, price and release date.
Citroën has evolved into a compact sedan that is considered too offbeat and misunderstood. She loses in passing her strong personality but gains in comfort with a new suspension.
Originality does not always pay. Citroën has learned it at its expense with a C4 cactus misunderstood since its debut in 2014. Born under the label of “essential Car” at the Frankfurt 2007, this sedan lost most of its substance during a painful gestation. Finally, the positioning is confusing at the time of marketing. The designers have imagined a low crossover that does not say its name and difficult to store in a category. As compact as a Peugeot 2008 but with the same wheelbase (2.60 m) as the C4, the Cactus contrives to scramble the cards. The startup is winded. The cactus C4 is struggling to find its audience. More than three years after his debut, Citroën resees his copy. The time is all the better chosen as the production of the C4 has just been stopped.
The presence of Citroën on the segment of the compact sedan will, therefore, lean for the next years on the cactus. We will not be surprised to see it go up in range with enhanced technology content and a less pungent style. The grille has been redesigned and enlarged, adapting to the brand’s new codes. It hosts daytime LED lights. The new design is mainly marked by the abandonment of the Airbumps on the flanks, these famous protections evoking a chocolate tablet or the flaps of a boat. They migrated to the bottom of the crate. As for the taillights with 3d effect and LED, they evoke the C4 and the latest achievements of the manufacturer.
The cockpit evolves more on the form than on the bottom. The back seat still does not slide and the rear windows do not go down completely. On the other hand, the quality of the materials marks net progress and personalization makes a noticeable entry. There are five types of Colors available. Combined with the 31 exterior combinations with 9 body tints and 4 “Color” Packs for outdoor fittings, they can be used to compose fairly harmonious vehicles and meet their inclinations. Citroen’s Signature, Comfort was one of the priorities of the review program. The seats gain in thickness (+ 15 mm) and lumbar support, especially in their Advanced Comfort version, world premiere, with three interior Color. These new equipment combine with the new suspensions with progressive hydraulic stops. In Europe, the Citroen C4 Cactus 2019 is the first Citroën to inaugurate this system which has been the subject of a 20-patent deposit.
These developments are accompanied by the emergence of 12 driving-aid technologies and the connectivity to the taste of the day.
The new C4 cactus will be available with the two 3-cylinder turbo petrol of 110 and 130 associated with a manual or automatic six-speed gearbox. The entry-level petrol will be provided by the 82 hp. As for the diesel range reduced to the Blue HDI 100 ch with or without the Stop & start, it will receive the reinforcement of a version HDI 120 hp associated with the EAT6 box in one year.
