Triumph Tiger 800 XCA Review; The Excellent one [2019 Version]
Multi-purpose Engine neat in the smallest detail, the third version of the Triumph Tiger 800 XCA friezes the flawless.
Triumph Tiger 800 XCA All Options Today is Around 20 000 €. A sum which is not always justified in the context of essentially peri use. This is where the average cylinders come in. Their level of performance is already excellent and their versatility often equivalent, if not superior.
A weight difference of about thirty kilos creates, in fact, a greater ease in maneuvers and better maneuverability in the urban environment. The rest is a matter of standing. Triumph understood it well which had already enhanced that of its Tiger 800 in 2015 and perfected it still today, history of hoisting it, power excepted, at the level of the big cylinders.
In the series endowment of the high-end Triumph Tiger 800 XCA, there are indeed a speed controller, heated handles, an aluminum engine shoe, rollbars, fully adjustable WP suspensions, fog lamps, saddles Heated driver and passenger and a superb 5-inch TFT instrumentation screen with the customizable display. enough to justify a sale price of 14 950 €.
The Triumph Tiger 800 XCA is nonetheless a clever purchase, as we found during our trial. The first observation is that the finish of this English is particularly neat. Another reason for satisfaction was that the engine manufacturers refined its 3-cylinders.
The little tiger whistles less, his hoarse timbre rises in the treble as the diet increases, a treat. The response of the English block is always linear, but it has less inertia, a real roadster engine. The first shorter boosts takeoff and high cruising speed (4 000 rpm at 90 km/h) boosts the raises.
The engineers have contained the weight of the machine to 222 kg with the full, the driving in town and on winding roads is easier. On the main axes, the increased protection of the new windshield adjustable in five positions is appreciable. For a trail with large deflections, the rocking horse effect is limited. This is due to the adjustments and the quality of the suspensions, but also to the braking which lacks a slight bite.
Looking for flaws, we found a slightly firm seat. Rather than a heated saddle, we would have preferred the comfort saddle that appears in the list of options. Finally, we found pinging the supplement claimed to have rubber on the footrests.
However, this new Tiger 800 proves to be a real Swiss Army knife, capable of performing all tasks with equal talent. True, the “villain” Tiger 1 200 is otherwise more rewarding and more efficient, but a price difference of 6 200 €, with the equal finish, gives material for reflection.
As for those that the saddle height (840 to 860 mm) and the high rate of the XCA would reshoot, the Tiger 800 remains proposed in six versions including an XR, lower and less equipped, which puts the entrance ticket to 11 100 €.
